-Understanding of the relationship between fluency and flow
-Recognition and use of pattern in effective speaking and writing

-Poetry as precursor and close relative of rap
-Exploration of rap in current literature
-Respectful staff with high expectations and effective technique
-At least two hours of direct reading, writing and spelling instruction daily
-Introduction to age- and developmentally-appropriate text
